چکیده
Musk mallow (Abelmoschus moschatus, family Malvaceae) is a medicinal plant cultivated across Asia, Africa and South America. It found as weed all over the Deccan region of India (Pawar & Vyawahare, 2017). The seeds are used for purposes source fragrant compounds (Gul et al., 2011). plants exhibiting yellowing older leaves, midvein clearing, leaf reduction, mottling slight downward curling (Fig. 1) were observed in October 2022 at experimental research farm Indian Agricultural Research Institute Pune, Maharashtra, India. occurred weeds disease incidence was 4% (c. 16 plants) an eight-acre area. Ten diseased four asymptomatic sampled to ascertain viruses associated with symptoms. ELISA done using antisera against Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus (CABYV) (DSMZ, Germany), yellow stunting disorder (CYSDV) (Arsh Biotech, India), Cucumber mosaic (CMV), Papaya ringspot (PRSV) Zucchini (ZYMV) (Agdia, USA). CABYV detected samples but CMV, CYSDV, PRSV ZYMV not detected. None five by samples. Total RNA extracted from both RNeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen, Two-step RT-PCR assay CABYV-specific primers which amplify c. 484 bp partial coat protein (Boubourakas 2006). also performed specific PRSV, ZYMV, Beet pseudo-yellows vein virus. Amplicons expected size obtained any other viruses. No amplification amplicons Sanger sequenced bidirectionally be identical (GenBank Accession No. OP455156). A BLASTn search sequence revealed that it shared 100% identity Praecitrullus fistulosus (OP455157). phylogenetic tree constructed neighbour-joining method (MEGA X program) sequences different hosts geographies, clustered 2). primarily infects cucurbits crops including three Malvaceae species, Abutilon theophrasti, Gossypium hirsutum Malva parviflora (Lecoq 2022). To our knowledge, this first report infecting Abelmoschus moschatus world. present finding epidemiological importance indicates further broadening host range possibility economically important members, such G. grown cotton Furthermore, musk could serve alternative / reservoir aiding its transmission commercial crops. authors thank Director, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi providing lab facilities.

Presence of Recombinant Strain of Cucurbit Aphid Borne Yellows Virus in Iran
Background: Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus (CABYV) is among the most important yellowing viruses on cucurbits in Iran. The presence of CABYV has been previously reported from the major cucurbit growing areas in Iran, however, there are few studies concerning the detection of the diff erent strains of this virus in the grower’s fi elds, and especially, there is no report of ...
متن کاملFirst Complete Genome Sequence of Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus from Papua New Guinea
Analysis of an RNA-Seq library from cucumber leaf RNA revealed the first complete genome sequence of Cucurbit aphid-borne yellows virus (CABYV) from Papua New Guinea. We compared it with 36 complete CABYV genomes from other world regions. It most resembled the genome of South Korean isolate GS6.

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by gradual decline in memory. The present study was undertaken to investigate the memory strengthening effect of Abelmoschusmoschatus Medic. Ethanolic extract of seeds (100,200mg/kg. p.o) was administered for 7 successive days to young mice. Exteroceptivebehavioral model such as elevated plus maze was employed to eval...
متن کاملDirect evidence for the semipersistent transmission of Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus by a whitefly vector
Cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus (CCYV) (genus Crinivirus, family Closteroviridae) is an emerging plant virus, and is now spreading and causing severe economic losses to cucurbit crops in many Asian countries. CCYV is believed to be transmitted specifically by the sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, in a semipersistent manner. In the present study, we provide direct evidence for the semipersi...
متن کاملMalignant catarrhal fever virus identified in free-ranging musk ox (Ovibos moschatus) in Norway.
To study the epizootiology of malignant catarrhal fever viruses (MCFV), serum and spleen samples collected in 2004-2011 from a free-ranging musk ox (Ovibos moschatus) population in Dovrefjell, Norway, were examined. Sera were tested for antibodies against MCFV by competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and spleen samples were examined by a consensus polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for her...
